With the high quality aspirants being paraded by the Labour Party (LP) in the coming Nov 8,2025 governorship election in Anambra State, only chosing the best from the bunch would give an assured future for the State.
This assertion was made by Chief George Moghalu, a respectable frontrunner in the governorship race while addressing party chiefs at Omor, Ayamelum Council area of the State at the weekend.
Moghalu visited the area in continuation of his consultative tour/meeting with stakeholders and party executives in the 21 Councils of the State ahead the scheduled April 5,2025 party primary urged them to close ranks, rally round him and support his aspiration by voting massively for him in the coming LP primary.
He pointed out that though the incumbent governor might have been doing everything wrong, but that he’s still strategically positioned to grab victory if LP presents a wrong candidate.
“Therefore we must present our best, a versatile generally acceptable, top-of-the-shelf candidate.
“Not someone who would not give LP victory on November 8 poll.
“And since we have many solid time-tested and experienced aspirants, let’s go for the best. It will guarantee us a smooth sail to victory…”
According to him, “..as you pointed out, that once LP comes on board, all the investors, both local and foreign who have run away will return in droves; even with new comers.
“Anambra need all-round development and am eager to synergize with you to get to the promised land.”
Chief Moghalu bemoaned the situation where the incumbent left criminals and kidnappers in the bushes/highways but invade family homes, markets, streams, village squares, churches and wedding receptions arresting ladies for not wearing pants, brassiere and corset. “Men were also not spared as they were labelled magicians, native doctors and herbalists.
“This is certainly not the way to develop, improve or attract investors into the state.
“We need to create the enabling environment and provide jobs for our teeming youthful population…”, Moghalu added, as the enthusiastic crowd of party members gave a standing ovation.
