The Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, has been nominated for the prestigious Pitch Sportsmanship Award for the year 2024.
This recognition comes as part of the 11th edition of the Pitch Awards, one of the most esteemed honors in Nigerian sports.
Aluo made the final shortlist of top performers, with voting concluded on December 31, 2024. The nominees were unveiled at a global press briefing in GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
This nomination is the latest in a series of accolades for Aluo, a veteran journalist turned football administrator. He has been recognized by his kinsmen, the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State and was equally named Sportsman of the Year by the Sportswriters Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo State Chapter.
As Chairman of the NNL, Aluo has been instrumental in elevating the league to new heights. His two-year tenure has seen significant improvements, earning him widespread praise from the Nigerian football community.
