More than One thousand who were hitherto staunch members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)members led by their leader, Barrister Ugochukwu Adilieje alongside some party Stakeholders, have decamped to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra.

This was revealed during a media interview with journalists in Awka earlier on Wednesday shortly after they met with some executive members of APGA in Anaocha.

The need for the sudden move, according to Chief Adilieje was as a result of the myriad of problem currently rocking the very foundation of PDP from State, Zonal and National levels.

Adilieje who described himself as a thorougjbred party man, was until recently a top State officer of the party also actively participated in the last October 2024 Anambra State congress of the party in Awka.

In an interview with journalists in Awka, the political tactician said he officially resigned from PDP last December 2,2024 after sitting down to x-ray events in PDP. He eventually came up with the view that it would be in his interest and that of his people to resign and move on to a more organized and cohesive party like the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), especially in view of all the wonderful development that Gov Chukwuma Soludo has been doing all over the State.

And how and why he chose now for the move, Barrister Adilieje, a well-known legal practitioner and entrepreneur said that he saw the anomalies all along but had hoped it would change for the better, yet to no avail.

Unfortunately things kept getting worse, especially when some of the leaders have continued to hold the development of the party down.

I chose APGA along with my political family because it is organized and Gov Soludo has been performing wonders all over the state.

As Chief Adilieje who was the Presidential aide for the counselled PDP to jettison the “winner-takes all attitude, because he suspects that it was reason why no effort or moves was made to reconcile or assuage all aggrieved members from the last state congress.

He advised the party to get rid of the old breed who he said have been weighing things down.

No party can make progress with such deadwood. He alongside his teeming supporters join APGA on Friday, Feb 21,2025 Adilieje called on other citizens to join hands & support Soludo.
