Another to aide of the governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, this time the Commissioner of Information, Mr Paul Nwosu, has been sacked in a controversial and inexplicable circumstances said to be perhaps related to the recent leak into the social media of a closed in-house gwo gwo gwo ngwo dance steps of the governor.
Few days ago the baritone gifted Managing Director of the state owned Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr Chido Obidiegwu was relieved of his appointment and replaced with the Delta state-born Mr Molokwu.
So the latest slamming of Nwosu was widely seen as part of ongoing cleaning of the Augean table in the information/communist department of the governor’s team.
An impeccable source indicated that an Abuja-based columnist/Current Affairs analyst who is penciled down to replace Nwosu has already undergone screening at the Anambra State House in preparation to take over from Nwosu.
Unconfirmed sources blame Nwosu’s dismissal on incompetence and his perceived failure to effectively manage the governor’s image as well as that of the State Government, especially with the upcoming governorship election next year well.
More so, the unrelenting intense bashing of the governor and the state Assembly on the management of issues regarding the poorly packaged hastily scheduled Council election was unpardonable.
Meanwhile, journalists in the state, including those from the state owned media outfits were visibly happy Nwosu’s ouster. They reported that over the past three years, the commissioner rarely engaged with journalists and was known to avoid their visits to his office.
Nwosu was also accused to be too old to keep pace with the trend in today’s news trend, challenges and needs.
