The Proprietor of Dreams FC, Obosi and All Stars FC, Nnobi, Nze Chukwuemeka Umeoji, has advised aspiring football youths in Anambra State and beyond to remain focused in their chosen career and have self belief in order to actualize their dreams.
Nze Umeoji spoke on the sidelines of his team’s regular Sunday mornings fitness exercise at Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha, Anambra State.
The business mogul is the founder and financier of Dreams FC, Obosi and All Stars FC, Nnobi.
“Believe in yourself and your ability. Don’t be discouraged by someone else’s failure. Concentrate in anything you do in life. There’s a whole lot of opportunities in football. Everyone on earth has his or her own destiny. Remember that if your destiny is to be a footballer, sincerely speaking, nothing will stop you because one day, your dream will come true”, Nze Umeoji told the youths.
He also spoke on reasons he floated Dreams FC and All Stars FC, Nnobi.
“I formed the All Stars FC in order to provide the platform for the retired players to exercise their bodies and keep fit regularly”, he explained.
“They need to keep themselves fit at all times despite not being active in the game any longer. Don’t forget that sports is one major medicine for health.
“And for the youth, Dreams FC is meant to provide that platform for them to discover and develop their talents, and maybe, get the opportunity to play in the State FA Cup and possibly represent the state and Nigeria”.
Looking through his shoulders, Nze Umeoji, in a nostalgia, remembered his youth age when he had loved to play football but could not.
“During my youth, I tried to play football but the opportunity didn’t come”, he lamented.
“So, now, what I couldn’t succeed in doing, I decided to encourage the young ones to excel”, he said before recalling that funds as a resul of the prevailing down turn of the nation’s economy is a major challenge in running football clubs in the country.
“The biggest challenge I can point out in running the two teams simultaneously is finance”, he lamented.
“It’s really tough but I’m trying my best. You can’t do it all alone. There a lot of young talents in this area but because of lack of sponsors, their talents fade away. I just decided to try my best to bridge that gap”, he concluded.
