The coach of Great Achievers FC, Michael Onyeukwu has declared that the 2024 edition of Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament trophy belongs to his team.

Speaking to Newspathfinder after his team defeated the defending champions, Abia Warriors in the second semi finals, the visibly elated coach said his boys have shown capacity to be champions.

On their game against Warriors, he said “the boys played according to our plan. We came into the game as an underdog. So we don’t need to push our opponents. We sat back and absorbed the pressure and after everything God crowned our efforts and gave us dying minutes goal. I give my boys 95/100”.

For the trophy, Coach Onyeukwu is confident his boys will do the needful.

“We are just coming here to lift the trophy, there is no two ways about it. It is a promise and l know that my boys are going to fulfill it”.
