….Commends Sponsor And Organizers

Coach of Excellent FC, Onome James has raised his arms in appreciation to the football fans in Abakaliki for their support at the Tico/Select Preseason Tournament.

Speaking with TICO/SELECT Media after his game against  Great Achievers that ended 2-1 in favor of the Enugu side, Coach Onome said the support given to teams during matches was a source of encouragement.

He commended the sponsor and organizers of the tournament describing it as one of the best preseason in the country.

“I want to use this opportunity to commend the sponsor, my friend Ifeanyi Ekwueme for sustaining this project. I also want to thank the people of Ebonyi especially Abakaliki for their support”,

“This is one of the best preseason tournaments. This is my second time. We’ve been to many of such but TICO/SELECT has come to stay”, he said

Speaking on his game against Achievers FC, Coach Onome said he knew the match will be a tough one as fighting for a semi finals slot is usually not easy.

“We knew it would be a high tension game. Fighting for a slot in the semi finals is not usually easy. We had opportunities, we had a penalty, if we had converted it the game would have ended in draw and we would have qualified”,

“But losing 1-2, we are out. All the same it is football. If you have your chances and fail to take them, you pay for it. Overall, it was a good game, good sides, good performances from both sides, great talents. Good game, good organization. Everything about Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament is great “.
