Ultimate Destiny Uplifters Foundation (UDUF), Thursday, celebrated this year ‘s International Youth Day at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State.
In a keynote address, the Executive Director, UDUF Africa, Comrade Precious Okpala thanked the founding president, Doctor Chinedu Smart Ezuma for his tireless efforts towards the progress of UDUF, noting that the intention of the group is to gather young people and open their eyes the more about digital pathways for sustainable development.
“As you can see what is happening around us, a lot of young youths are misusing the opportunity of internet and using it wrongly and it is said that when you don’t know the original, you will not know the counterfeit,” she said.
She stated that international youth celebration holds every 12 of August but UDUF chooses to celebrate on 22nd of August.
Okpala said the theme of this year’s event gears towards click to progress, youths pathway for sustainable development and that the aim is to equip young Africans with skills to thrive in the digital economy, entrepreneurial empowerment and ensuring a brighter future, promoting digital inclusion, engaging in skills development, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, advocating for policy support.
She urged the young leaders to embrace digital learning for social impact to elaborate for more knowledge, adding that the success of the programme could not have been achieved without the impact of the president and the committeess that are working to sharpen the lives of the youths in ensuring that they move to progress and be transformed, as well as recognise the impact of digital literacy and sustainable development.
One of the directors, Uchenna Christopher Nwosu said the aim and vision of the group is to become a set orginzation that will inspire African new generation of young servant leaders and entrepreneurs who are tactical and community services oriented.
Others are to connect, inspire volunteers and transform, train, monitor and provide skills acquation for unemployed and underemployed young students and political leaders to serve humanity and communites in Africa.
He noted that the group is not sponsored by government but young individuals who came together and from a platform with their time and resources for the betterment of the African youths.
High points of the event were group panel discussion anchored by Amb.Udo Ezeudo, Secretary of the group, Consloe Adaolisa Anih, Olusegun Oluebube SO Ebesan, ICT Media and Facilitation, Onitsha Bussiness School.

Among those that graced the occasion were the provost of the school, Dr Justina Anyadiegwu, represented by the Dean, Student Affairs, Comrade Barrister Law Egbomuche.
