The newly elected executives of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Branch on Tuesday, August 21st, 2024 paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi.
During the visit, Prof. Umobi expressed her delight in meeting the new executives, particularly the Chairman, Mr. Emma Nnaemeka, whom she described as a pleasure to work with.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor recalled her previous support for ANUPA, which included breaking down barriers to enable members to reach higher levels in their careers. Prof. Umobi pledged her continued support for the association, emphasizing the importance of continuous education and teamwork.
The ANUPA Chairman, Mr. Emma Nnaemeka, explained that having been elected on June 30, 2024, the new executives considered it essential to pay a three-pronged visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor. He outlined the purposes of their visit as to introduce themselves to Prof. Umobi and establish a working relationship, to congratulate her on her appointment as Acting Vice-Chancellor and express their support and also to assure her of their commitment to adding value to the university and as well request increased support from the management.
Nnaemeka introduced the new executives, congratulated Prof. Umobi on her appointment and assured her of ANUPA’s commitment to contributing their best to the university’s success.
He highlighted the association’s achievements, including attending national trainings and workshops since 2012 and acknowledged the support received from the university management.
Mr. Nnaemeka appealed for more opportunities for training and conferences, citing the upcoming ANUPA conference in Abuja from September 4th to 7th, 2024. He requested additional assistance to enable members to attend in large numbers.
