NPFL side Niger Tornadoes of Minna will on Sunday battle NLO side Like-Minds FC of Gwagwalada, Abuja in the final of the 2024 edition of the Unity Preseason Tournament holding in Abuja.

To qualify for the final match slated for the Area 3 playing pitch, Garki Abuja, Like-Minds FC had shoved aside a non-league team 2K-19 in the semi finals. Two first half goal by Tochukwu Adibe and Edvardo was all that the Gwagwalada boys needed to go in for the interval. The 2K-19 boys rallied one goal at the commencement of the second half through Solomon Abraham. Lucky Ojukwu made it three for the Gwagwalada boys, before Ofezie ThankGod scored a second goal for the Ifeanyi Ubah led team.

In the second match which was an all NPFL affair, Niger Tornadoes of Minna scored the curtain raiser in the 16th minute through Michael Okenwa. Terdoo Shimagande drew level for Nasarawa United in the 39th minute. The match ended 1:1

In the resultant penalty kicks, Niger Tornadoes scored all their three kicks, while Nasarawa United lost all their three kicks.

The highlight of the final match will be the investiture of the Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Sports Ministry, Barrister Isaac Danladi as the Patron of the Tournament.
