After losing 0-1 in their first match at the ongoing Coal City Cup to Rangers International, Enyimba FC have shifted their focus to their second game against 3SC of Ibadan.
According to information from the camp, the preseason tournament is one of a kind to prepare the team for the 2024/25 NPFL season with top Nigerian clubs and outside Nigeria in attendance.
Enyimba FC took to the pitch yesterday in high anticipation but fail to get past their achrival Rangers International, falling 1-0 to the Enugu-based side.
Speaking to Newspathfinder, the Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme said that despite the loss, the encounter provided valuable experience for the squad, particularly the new signings who featured in the game.
The Aba Giants showed flashes of cohesion and understanding, with notable performances from the new players.
Head Coach, Yemi Olanrewaju said he is happy with team’s progress. “We are pleased with the progress we are making. The new players are settling in well, and we’re seeing signs of a strong team dynamic”.
“We’ll continue to work on our strategy and tactics ahead of the new season. Last night’s game was a valuable learning experience, and we’ll use it to improve our performance in the next game against 3SC.”
