The Wife of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo has provided food for more than 5000 less privileged persons and free medical checks for widows and widowers in the state.
The gesture by the State’s First Lady was on the occasion of the celebration of her fifty-fourth birthday held at the arena of the Women’s Development Centre Awka on Wednesday, 31st July 2024.
Speaking at the ceremony with a gathering of more five thousand less privileged persons, including widows and widowers, who were recipients of free medical checkups, wheelchair, bags of rice, beans and gallons of oil, Mrs Soludo stated that the greatest privilege of being alive is to ensure that such existence is fulfilled through deeds that leave lasting impacts on humanity.
The First Lady of Anambra State affirmed that each chapter of her life is a reflection of God’s immense grace celebrated on the day with testimony and appreciation. She also promised to continue to use her existence to serve humanity and bring about the greater social change for mankind.
Mrs Soludo further disclosed that the most significant message of her birthday celebration is to teach people the essence of love, kindness, unity and friendship while urging all who turned up to celebrate her to live in line with the ideology that a society without love is at war with itself.
The colourful event saw the distribution of bags of rice, beans, gallons of oil as well as free medical checks for the less privileged. As part of the event, one thousand packs of hybrid seeds was distributed to support Mrs Soludo’s free seed programme and garden campaign.
The event had top government officials in the state all in attendance to celebrate and felicitate with the wife of the Anambra State Governor with the climax being the cutting of the 54th Birthday cake.
