Peace FC of Awka made history on Saturday, 20th July 2024 by officially launching and unveiled their new sets of Jerseys for the upcoming 2024/2025 football season.
The official launching and unveiling took place at the Awka City Stadium, Anambra State just before their match against Puma All Stars Football Club, Army Barracks Onitsha at the ongoing 2024 Babatem/ANSFA All Stars Football Competition.
Players of the All Stars and Junior teams donned the all White outfit as well as the Royal Blue top and Navy Blue Short designs with the name of the shirt sponsor, NOLUN CHATTELS LTD visibly engraved on the colourful outfits.
Addressing Sports writers, Chairman of Peace FC, Mr. Ifunanya Nwangwu informed that the unveiling ceremony was an opportunity for the club to showcase to the globe the team currently making waves in the state. Nwangwu stated that the club is building something different in the state that will match not just clubs playing in the elite Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) but the highest level of football in the globe.
The football administrator informed that Peace FC is turning into a full global brand with Under 17 team, Junior team currently playing in the NLO and All Stars Team. He disclosed that the vision of the club is to make impact across all levels of football by trying to take the youths out of the street through the instrumentality of football via providing a platform for them to be future global Stars.
Nwangwu said: “Today is a special day for us in our project as we are building something different in Anambra State by setting up a club that will match not just premier League sides in Nigeria but at the highest level of football and this is the first step for this dream which is in the form of unveiling our new Jerseys for the new season.
“We have Under-17 team, an Under-19 side playing in the NLO and the All Stars team, the essence is to make impact not just at the grassroots but all levels of football and we are trying to take our youths off the street through football by providing a platform for them to become future world Stars,” Nwangwu stated.
The Peace FC Chairman urged other football stakeholders to help recreate the days when Anambra State use to have many players playing for the National teams as there are wonderful and amazing talents at the grassroots level yet to be discovered.
Eulogizing the club for the heroics, a top football administrator in the state and Proprietor of Jimbaz FC of Ihiala, Prince Michael Mbaezue described the club as a well organized football structure seeking to make rave reviews in the roundleather game with their football programmes and activities. Mbaezue thanked Peace FC for their contributions towards the growth of the game while urging other football stakeholders to borrow a leaf from their ideas and innovation.
Peace FC later on in the day defeated Puma All Stars FC Onitsha by two unreplied goals scored through the boots of Celestine Obidimalo and Emmanuel Chukwuemeka.
