Acting Vice-Chancellor Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu has been honored with a merit award from the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).

The award was presented to Professor Ikechebelu during a courtesy visit by members of the Institute to his office.

Mr Emma Afam Nwobu, the State Chairman of NIQS, stated that the award recognizes Professor Ikechebelu’s significant contributions to human development and the advancement of healthcare in Anambra State and Nigeria.

Highlighting the purpose of the visit, HRH Igwe C.C. Agbala, the traditional ruler of Uke and a member of the Institute, mentioned that the delegation aimed to engage with the Vice-Chancellor and offer collaborative insights to enhance the field of Quantity Surveying at the university.

He emphasized the importance of supporting the department, especially as their accreditation approaches, and expressed confidence in Professor Ikechebelu’s ability to elevate Nnamdi Azikiwe University to greater heights.

In his response, Professor Ikechebelu expressed gratitude to the NIQS for acknowledging his efforts in the healthcare sector.

He assured the Institute that the university management has consistently supported departments during accreditation processes and would extend the same support to the Quantity Surveying department.

Professor Ikechebelu reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the university’s status and expressed readiness to collaborate with the Institute as needed.
