Auto Crash Kills Two In Anambra, Injure Others

An auto crash involving a commercial Mack tanker with registration number AAA877XR and a commercial Toyota Diana with registration number: AGL627XC which happened in the wee hours of Tuesday morning has left two persons dead.

The auto crash occured at Obinetiti Awkuzu along Onitsha-Enugu Expressway Anambra State at about 5 am.

An eyewitness account said that the Mack tanker failed break and crushed the Diana truck, killing two persons on the spot.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for Anambra State Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC,
RC Margaret B Onabe said that seven persons were involved in the accident but two died.

She attributed the possible cause of the fatal crash to break failure.

According to her, three male adults and four female adults were involved in the crash, while two of the female and three male adults sustained varying degrees of injury.

Onabe also said that one female adult was rescued unhurt.

She saud, “The FRSC rescue team from RS5.33 Nteje Anambra State rushed the victims to Chira Hospital, Awkwzu where two female adults were confirmed dead and their corpse have been deposited at the morgue.

“The team are still on ground ensuring obstruction caused by the crash is cleared.

“The Sector Commander Anambra State Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi has sympathized with the family of the dead victims and wishes the injured victims quick recovery.

“He warned motorists against disobeying traffic rules and regulations and urged them to always ensure they service their vehicles regularly.”
