Members of Pentecostal Bishops’ Association of Anambra State (PBAAS), Saturday, rose from their 2024 Convocation, held at Hilton Leisure Hotel, Awka, with a vote of confidence on the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for his exceptional and multi-sectoral development-oriented governance.
This was contained in a communique signed and issued to journalists by the association’s Executive President, Bishop Augustine Nwodika shortly after the meeting.
They commended the governor for the giant strides of his administration, especially on solid road constructions, improved primary health care, revamping of education sector, reduction of insecurity in the state, among others, even as they urged him to do more against cultism among the youths.
The communique further stated that the association would like to have a much more cordial relationship with the present administration in the state.
While expressing gratitude to God for the success of this year’s convocation, the bishops enjoined the Body of Christ, especially the pentecostals (who are about 60% of Anambra population) to eschew bitterness, rancour and division but to work towards the advancement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and live as shining light in this dark world.
They encouraged the populace to be law abiding and contribute in no small measure, to the progress of the society.
They called on parents, especially fathers to be active in church activities and make time for their children at home to help stop the menace of idol worship and occultism among youths in the society.
Those present were Bishop A.A. Nwodika, Archbishop E.M Ezenwafor, Bishop Charles Uchenna, Bishop Ozioma F Ozoemena (PRO), amongst others.
