Chief Chinedu Benson Madubuko, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of De Chico Investment Ltd, on Friday, May 31st 2024 inspected ongoing construction work at the ultra modern auditorium for the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The auditorium which is an endowment by the Adazi-Ani business magnate whose foundation laying ceremony was performed in December 2022 is in support of the Faculty of Social Sciences towards hosting of academic events such as conferences, seminars, workshops and symposia.

In an interview with the media, Chief Madubuko emphasized that education is key to the development of every sector and efforts should be made to support the growth of this very important sector. Madubuko informed that as someone who has been part of community development, the government cannot do it all and he is poised to finance and support any good project or ideas that will lead to his community growth as well as educational institutions such as that of UNIZIK.

Madubuko said: “Today, I am here to inspect the ongoing construction work at the 500-seater auditorium for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University after the Honourary Doctorate degree conferred on me by the institution at her 18th Convocation ceremony. We have been part of community development and with the situation of the country, we know that the government cannot do it all.

“As stakeholders, we have decided to be assisting Government in financing any good projects or ideas that will make institutions and communities move to the next level. Education is key to the development of every sector and am delighted to identify with an institution such as Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka,” Madubuko said.

Madubuko who was conferred with the Honorary Doctorate degree in Entrepreneurship and Humanitarian Services informed that he turned down calls from various institutions considering the pedigree of UNIZIK and its track record of churning out graduates who are both worthy in character and learning as can be seen with their contributions towards societal development.

The Anambra-born business magnate further informed that upon completion of the FSS Auditorium project which will contain block of offices, lecture halls, modern convenience, 500-capacity seater auditorium and other unique features, it will raise the name and visibility of the institution.
