The big wigs of the All Progressives Congress, APC are set to storm the commercial city of Nnewi in Anambra State for party’s 2024 Colloquium and Mega Empowerment Rally on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Expected at the event are the nation’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who will be the Special Guest of Honour, the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the Chairman.
Others are, the South-East Leader of APC, Chairman of South-East Governors Forum and the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma as well as Ebonyi State Gov, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as Guest of Honour.
This was contained in a statement by the media office of the party, Anambra State chapter on Tuesday.
It said that the Colloquium would be followed by a mega empowerment rally to be held at the Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, Nnewi.
According to the statement, the events would afford the leadership of the party at National and State levels the opportunity to interact with the people of Anambra South Senatorial District, which Senator Ifeanyi Ubah represents at the National Assembly.
It noted that the programme would enable the Presidency and the party’s hierarchy to witness Senator Ubah’s empowerment programme
The party disclosed that the events which would be powered by the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District who incidentally is the only elected official of the party in the state are geared towards enriching the minds of the party members, the people of Anambra South and Ndị Igbo in general with a lecture on ‘De-Marginalization of the South East and Integration to National Politics.
The lecture would be delivered at Anaedo Hall Nnewi on Friday, March 22, 2024, by the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof Charles Esimone.
Speaking on the scheduled events, Senator Ubah said that it is essential to integrate Igbo people into national politics.
He hailed the leadership of his party for supporting the idea, noting that the empowerment programme is part of his legislative activities that are aimed at developing young talents and supporting the people of his Senatorial District to achieve their ambitions in life.
