…..As Enyimba Holds Pre -Easter Outreach For Motherless Babies
The Chairman of Enyimba Int’l FC, Kanu Papilo Nwankwo “FIFA Ambassador” has stated that among all the trophies he has won all through his life that the biggest and greatest trophy is putting smile across the faces of the less privileged ones.
Kanu who made these ascertion during the pre Easter outreach organized by Enyimba Foundation in conjunction with Enyimba FC for the motherless Babies explained that making the indigent ones happy makes him happy.
“This is the best thing that always happens to me when I do such activities. For me it’s great, it’s wonderful and seeing people smile is the biggest thing that can happen to you”,
Making people smile is what we have done here today. It’s not a one off thing. In December we celebrated Christmas with patients in the hospitals, now we have done another one today with motherless Babies Homes and Enyimba is going to do more services”,
“I can tell you now, we intend to do football clinics with people in the primary schools and secondary schools. some of them might know the players, or their names but they have to see them. Whoever wants to play football in such schools has to know Enyimba”,
“Imagine having the players coming to play and train with you, it will encourage to do more and not only that we are going to visit prisons and share thoughts and gifts with them. So there is a lot Enyimba is going to do not only playing football”, the FIFA Ambassador said
Reacting on the motivational factor behind the outreach by Enyimba Foundation, Kanu said;
“When you talk about ‘experience’, it’s something you have passed by and you get some knowledge from it. You see football clubs in Europe have Foundations but in Nigeria no one has thought of that”,
” When we were in Arsenal and Ajax what we normally do is go to the hospital to enjoy with the patients and play with them, share gifts with them making them happy”,
“So coming to Enyimba, it’s a club like others in Europe so I thought that it’s good and is going to be great. Let’s learn from the experience like i said, let us do such and doing such is giving back to the society. We are from Abia State, we need to give and not just collect, we need to give back to the kids, adults who ever it is. We the players have that power to influence other people”.
Enyimba Foundation in conjunction with Enyimba FC on Monday held a pre Easter outreach for motherless Babies as four Motherless Babies Homes including the Seventh Day Adventist Motherless Babies Homes in Ogborhill and Ngwa Road in Aba, Rita Joy Motherless Babies Home Abayi in Aba and Father Basil Motherless Babies Home Jubilee Road, Aba benefited.
