….As Mbaoma’s 8 League Goal Sinks 3SC
The Digital Chairman of Enyimba Int’l FC, Kanu Papilo Nwankwo “FIFA Ambassador” has revealed the significance of the visit of Norwegian Premier League club officials, Hamkam FC.
Speaking to journalists shortly after Enyimba’s 1- 0 league win against Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC of Ibadan in one of the NPFL match day 20 encounter this weekend, Amb Kanu said they have come to partner with the People’s Elephant on youth development of football.
“Yeah, they are officials of Hamkam FC, a premier league side in Norway and they have come to partner Enyimba in youth development of our team.
“Today they came to watch the first team play, they arrived since Friday when we welcomed them at the Owerri Int’l Cargo Airport and they are very relaxed as they started training the youth team this morning and the most important thing is for us to make football develop and it has to start with the young ones, that’s why they are here.
“Part of the benefits is basically Youth Development and this means they are going to train our youth teams from U-15 to U-17 and U-19 and if they are good ones they will take them.
“We know some people have tried this type of programme without truly getting it right but any one who understands the present Government in Abia state under the able leadership of His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti you will know we don’t mince words.
“Again this is Kanu Papilo and we don’t say what we don’t do, what they are here to do is to see what we have, to know if we have a good structure and so far they are excited with what they have seen.
“We are The People’s Elephant’, people need Enyimba (the biggest club in Africa), if we are not special they won’t come, if Papilo is not the Chairman (the best club chairman), they won’t come”, the former Super Eagles and Arsenal Legend explained.
Meanwhile, Enyimba FC continued their quest for immediate return back to continental competitions with an emphatic double league win against the Oluyele Warriors on Saturday.
The 9-time league champions confirmed their superiority over the Ibadan based side when Chijioke Obaoma struck midway in the first stanza of the encounter for his 8 goal of the season.
Efforts to increase the goal tally though proved abortive especially in the second stanza as the Gbenga Ogunbote led side remained resolute with Okemute Odah in goal resisting Enyimba’s onslaught.
