The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on works has commended the progress of Ozubulu – Ihembosi – Ukpor road in Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Emma Nwafor representing Orumba South gave the commendation during an oversight of the committee.

Nwafor expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, highlighting the importance of the special underground drainage in controlling erosion.

Currently at the soil stabilization stage, Mr. Nwafor emphasized the need for the contractors to expedite action on the work, noting Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s stance against delays.

On his part, the member representing Ekwusigo constituency, Mr. Ikenna Ofodeme praised Governor Soludo for prioritizing the project, shifting its status from a campaign promise to a tangible reality.

He assured of the support of Ekwusigo constituency to the present administration and commitment to combat the level of crime that has taken place in the past.

Commending the project, the Chairman, Seahorse Oil, Mr. Ebuka Onunkwo, assumed the road as a significant gift from the governor, especially for its impact on eight villages in Ihembosi.

He urged the contractors to maintain the quality of work and ensure timely completion.

The House also extended condolences to Mr. Onunkwo for the loss of his mother and to the people of Ihembosi for the loss of their son during the road project’s realization.
