Abia Warriors Chairman John Sam Obuh has further assured that the Umuahia Township Stadium will meet the required standard ahead of the resumption of the second stanza of the league.
Speaking on the steps already taken to put the Umuahia Township Stadium in shape, Obuh said “We have involved experts from the University of Agriculture Umudike with a lot of test being carried out as to ascertain the grass that is suitable for our soil”
“We are working hard to meet up with the expectations, though,it is really costing the club money but we have to get it done because, to ensure that Abia Warriors play at home. Because our home is our home”.
The former U17 & U20 manager further shared the plans of the Abia State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti for the turf, saying major work will commence after the current football season is over.
“One good thing is that major work will commence on the stadium immediately after the season, after the state government contracted the works out. Umuahia Township Stadium will have a new look” he concluded. Obuh remained optimistic that Abia Warriors will play all their second stanza NPFL season at the Umuahia Township stadium.
