SEUGA: ESUT Win Female Volleyball Bronze

The female Volleyball team of Enugu State University of Technology today picked the bronze medal of the volleyball event at the ongoing South East University Games holding in Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

The Coal City Girls defeated their Imo State University counterparts 25-11, 25-13 and 25-11 to cart home the bronze medal.

ESUT lost to UNIZIK 14-25, 19-25 and 8-25 in the semi finals while Imo State University lost 0-3 to Federal University of Technology Owerri.

Speaking to Newspathfinder after the game, captain of ESUT, Chiemerie Ufuanya thanked God for the the victory though they had hoped to go beyond third place in the competition.

“We won bronze but we did not play as expected. I am glad that the girls put up a good fight after our last game which was not too good”,

“We will go back and hopefully do better as we prepare for Pre-NUGA Games. I am  glad we won this bronze, it is a motivation to do more”, she said.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University female Volleyball team will play against FUTO in the finals tomorrow.
