Arguably the toughest match in the match day 15 of the NPFL encounters this weekend, Coach Finidi George of the league champions recognizes the need to approach the next Oriental Derby for Enyimba Int’l FC with total Commitment.
The People’s Elephant will on Wednesday at the Enyimba Int’l Stadium, Aba host one of their perennial rivals Enugu Rangers in one of the popular Oriental derbies as both sides continue to consolidate their positions on the log.
Enyimba will be fresh haven not been in action owing to their opponents engagement in the continent (Rivers United) will hope to get the better of the Fidelis Illechukwu side as the likes of Eze Ekwutoziam, Chidiebere Nnachi, Joseph Atule and Daniel Daga are expected to continue to run things for the Coach Finidi in the midfield and attack.
Reacting to Enyimba Media on the Oriental Derby, Finidi who also doubles as Super Eagles Assistant Coach said;
“Yeah this is a game we approach with all sincerity and commitment, Rangers is a very good side and they are playing some good football.
“We know it’s going to be a very difficult one, my players are ready, hopefully we deliver tomorrow. We know it’s not easy to win every match but we will do our best to make sure the players go all out for it, hopefully Victory will be ours.
The two illustrious teams from the South East have met 24 times since 2010 with the Aba Landlords winning on 12 occasions and the Enugu Antelopes victorious 7 times while 5 encounters ended in a draw.
