A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Prosper Ahworegba, has expressed satisfaction with the quality of road projects being constructed in Delta State, saying that if the trend is sustained, the state will boast of the best network of roads across the country under the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Dr Ahworegba, former member of the Delta APC Publicity Committee from 2017 as well as former Director of Administration and Strategy in Senator Joel Onowakpo’s House of Representatives Campaign Organisation in 2019, declared this on Social Media in appreciation of various road projects being constructed and rehabilitated across the state.
With particular reference to the quality of the concrete road projects in Otovwodo area of Ughelli Township, Ahworegba said the specifications are world standard as defined in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals which recommends the building of resilient infrastructure as well as promoting sustainable industrialization and fostering innovation.
“I am impressed with the quality of the roads undergoing construction,” he wrote.
“Indubitably, these are resilient infrastructure in accordance with the UN SDG No.9.
“This is commendable. If this trend is maintained, Delta will boast of the best road network in Nigeria, within generation.”
From Igbide in Isoko South LGA, Delta State, Ahworegba is a member of Doctors Without Borders International, public affairs analyst, political activist and Director at Fairwinds Hospital, Abuja.
In line with the cardinal principles of Gov Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda and his commitment to the consolidation and advancement of Delta State, he is pleasantly surprising Deltans with the quality and spate of completion of inherited projects and initiation of new infrastructure projects across sectors, right from the inception of his administration.
While ensuring steady funding of the projects by which he recently released N30 billion to contractors, he has declared that any project that does not meet specification and standard quality will not be commissioned and the state may be moved to prosecute such contractors.
In this regard, the Honourable Commissioners for Works, Comrade Rueben Izeze and Chief Charles Aniagwu, Highways and Urban Roads, and Rural Roads, respectively, have maintained regular weekly inspection of various ongoing projects.
