The Nigeria Boxing referees/ Judges association has declared unequivocally that they do not go with the planned move by the former president of the Nigeria Boxing Federation, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah (rtd.), to withdraw Nigeria from the International Boxing Association.
This they stated in a communique made available to the media after their joint meeting recently.
They also declared that their full support for the emergence of Azania Omo-Agege, as the interim President of the Nigeria Boxing Federation.
Below is the full text of the communique as realesed.
The Nigerian Boxing Referee/judges Association, a federating body of the Nigerian Boxing Federation wishes to state inter-alia:
1. That we are still federating under the International Boxing Association (IBA).
2. That we have not joined nor do we intend to join the so called “World Boxing”.
3. That if a few persons parading themselves to represent this association does so, they do that representing their parochial interest and not the generality of this association .
4. That at no time was a meeting or form of plesbiscite was conducted to asked where we will like to federate under .
We want to state unequivocally clear that we are totally and wholly with the administration of Mr Azania Omoagege, the interim President of the Nigerian Boxing Federation and Vice President of the African Boxing Confederation and the International Boxing Association.
