The Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria National League has pardoned both Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta and Malumfashi FC of Malumfashi.

The pardon allows them to return to the Nigeria National League, after they were expelled by the League Body.

Confirming this to NNL media on Thursday, the Chief Operating Officer of the League body Dr. Ayo Abdulrahaman said the Committee took the plead of the two teams and decided to temper justice with mercy, and allowed the two teams the opportunity to be part of the League once again, after payment of all their liabilities.

Dr Abdulrahaman said the affected teams have been given a final date to pay up their liabilities before they return to the League.

It could be recalled that the leadership of the Nigeria National League only recently expelled Gateway, Malumfashi from the League.

The two teams were expelled in line with article 3.5 01 of the NNL rule book.

This the Board said was due to their inability to meet their financial obligations to the NNL, and fulfill other club licensing conditions for the 2023/2024 league season.
