The traditional ruler of Abacha, Idemili North Local Government Area, Igwe Godwin Nwabunwanne Odiegwu has been commended for flagging off Outbreak Response (OBR 2) Polio Immunization Campaign in Idemili North LGA.
The traditional ruler with all his cabinet members, through the efforts of Sydani Group and National Primary HealthCare Development Agency strongly declared support for the Operation Keep Polio at Zero in the state by calling on all parents and caregivers in Abacha and beyond to utilize the opportunity of this campaign period to ensure that all their eligible children get vaccinated.
While also commending the efforts of the Director, Primary Health Care, Idemili North LGA, Mrs. Edeh Chinyere and Social Mobilization Officer, Mrs. Igboekweze Chizoba, the traditional ruler stated that it is a welcome development and wise decision of the Sydani Group and National Primary HealthCare to include traditional rulers in such a plan adding that the influence of the traditional rulers is a good opportunity for healthcare promotion at the community level.
The Director, Disease Control and Immunization (DDCI) – Dr. Placid Uliagbafusi of Anambra State Primary HealthCare Development Agency, while commending the traditional ruler and his cabinet members for their support in the fight against polio and other vaccine preventable diseases, called on more traditional rulers and other stakeholders to emulate same and put in more effort in leading the fight as Idemili North is a very large LGA and would require extra efforts to scale up the ladder.
