Enyimba Int’l FC Gaffer, Coach Finidi George has acknowledged that this seasons NPFL will be tough but insists the champions will continue to get better with more games.
The former Super Eagles and Ajax winger made this known shortly after his team’s second home league win against Kwara United at the Enyimba Int’l Stadium, Aba on Sunday.
He expressed optimism that the game may not have been a fantastic performance but that securing the three points was paramount to the team.
Chijoke Mbaoma’s Penalty goal was all the People’s Elephant needed to secure their second league win of the season as both sides efforts to get another goal during the second stanza of the game proved abortive.
“It wasn’t the best game we have played but getting the three points was very important for us.
“We will keep doing our best to improve on areas we need and Enyimba will continue to get better for the season.
“It’s not going to be an easy league going by the results from other venues for Rivers, Akwa and Remo.
“This is were we belong and the league has kicked off, we just have to win our home games, try not to lose away matches and we come back home to solidify, I think that’s the way forward.
“The past two seasons the top scorer has come from Enyimba. As you know it’s not easy to find strikers all over the world but we keep pushing our team, definitely the leagues top scorer is going to come from Enyimba.
“We are quit happy for Daga’s man of the match performance, he has done it in the U-20 two or three times and coming back here to do it in Enyimba shows how good he is but I think the whole team has to do better for the results. Hopefully everyone will be happy, victory is what everybody in Enyimba wants”.
Enyimba will next travel to Kano this weekend for a date with Kano Pillars in one of the NPFL match day 8 encounters
