Mr Odogwu, was announced the winner  at the grand finale of  the Union’s 2023 Press Week held at Godwin Ezeemo International Press Centre, Awka.

His entry, ‘Anambra health centres where humans share facilities with snakes, rodents’ was adjudged the best by the award committee led by the former Managing Director and Editor-In-Chief of National Light newspapers, Chief Chuka Nnabuife.

David Eleke of ThisDay newspapers and Izunna Okafor of 247ureports.com were declared as first and second runners up respectively by the committee

The award winner thanked God for blessing his hard work with the honour saying that when set out to work on the story, his primary intention was to give Awba Ofemmili people a voice. He commended the NUJ for that beautiful initiative.
