Still mauling over their ouster from the African Football League AFL, NPFL Champions, the People’s Elephant went into their match day 6 encounter against Niger Tornadoes in search of all three points but were forced to a point apiece.
Enyimba Captain and Super Eagles goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo put up a man of the match performance at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna to ensure the 9 time league champions got their first point on the road this season.
Reacting after the encounter against Tornadoes, Ojo said they wanted all three points but are satisfied with the one point insisting that the result also indicates that they can still do it despite the challenges they have face in the past week.
“Yeah we are happy for the point we got and am happy with the effort put in during the game by all.
“We really wanted all three points but it didn’t work so we manage the one point we go home to build on the next game.
“It’s good we got the result as it shows we can still do it after the challenges we’ve had recently and we have to continue working hard.
The Gaffer, Coach Finidi George also shared same sentiment noting that they set out to get a good result in Kaduna but are not disappointed with the point at hand.
“It’s good we got the point and am happy cause we have had two games were didn’t get anything.
“It was our strategy to go into the game looking for a win, if it comes, fantastic but if doesn’t, we make sure we don’t lose.
“We have to home now and work towards getting the maximum points in the next game at home.
Enyimba has played three matches in the league losing one, winning one and drawing one. The people’s Elephant will in their next game on Sunday take on Kwara United at the Enyimba Int’l Stadium, Aba.
