The African Director, International Association of World
Peace Advocates, IAWPA, Ambassador John Chukwudi Metchie, has commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo for the reappointment of Dr. Anslem Onuorah as Chairman of Anambra-East Local Government Area.

Metchie who took cognisance of the fact that Governor Soludo is empowering young people with leadership positions in his government, maintained that the emergence of Dr. Onuorah as the Transition Committee Chairman has indeed transformed communities in Anambra-East.

He said the efforts of the local government boss in transforming the council area with infrastructures in the last one year is not unrecognised, adding that the LG Chairman’s passion and penchant for rural development is evident in the plethora of projects he has executed in the area.

Metchie said, ” It has been one solid year of localising the Solution Agenda in Anambra-East local government area. I am from Umueri in Anambra-East and I can boldly testify to what the council chairman has done and still doing in my community.

Other communities like Aguleri, Umuoba-Anam, Enugwu-Otu, Aguleri-Otu, Mkpunando, Nando, Nsugbe,Otuocha and a host of others all have projects in tandem with their felt needs. These are efforts geared towards giving those at the grassroots new lease of life.

As far as am concerned, his reappointment meant more democracy dividends for Anambra-East because the young man is really trying and should be encouraged to do more for the people of Anambra-East.”

The UN Peace Ambassador who noted that the reward for hard work is more work and that to whom much is given, much is expected, urged Dr. Anslem Onuorah to redouble his efforts this time in the execution of more community projects to address human and infrastructural development.

He therefore charged the council chairman to beam his searchlights on health facilities, security, education and other sectors and also ensure that all the communities in Anambra-East feel the impact of his reappointment.

Metchie who reemphasized his support for the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state, maintained that Governor Soludo is indeed harnessing young talents for the future as envisioned in his disruptive change mantra.

He said, ” Soludo is really empowering our youths with leadership positions. Virtually all the TC chairmen are young guys with vigor and vitality; armed with technical and administrative skills in implementing the Solution Agenda in their respective local government areas.”
