Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has identified notable legacies in the South East that will plant the name of the outgoing president Muhammadu Buhari in the annals of history as he prepares to vacate office on May 29, 2023.
He reeled out the legacies to include the second Niger bridge Onitsha and the Ebele Ofunneamaka Okeke Federal Secretariat Awka respectively.
Soludo made the assertion during the official commission of both projects in Onitsha, Tuesday.
The governor described the Second Niger Bridge as a project that will attract more socio-economic activities in the Southeast region.
He wished Buhari well as he prepares to leave office in few days.
On his part, the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, said his heart was full of joy and his eyes full of tears over the opening of the second Niger bridge, even though the Igbos did not vote for president Buhari.
Uzodinma added, “He asks for our votes and we do not vote for him, yet we have gotten a second Niger bridge. It is a thing of joy for me.
“On behalf of myself, the South East governors, Ohaneze leaders and the entire people of the region present here. I, Governor Hope Uzodinma, I say thank you Mr. President.”
