Veteran Coach and goalkeeper trainer, Paul Obiakor has promised to kit a young promising goalkeeper, Chigozie Akubuike of the Peace FC.

The player who has shown rare goalkeeping skills at the ongoing NEROS Anambra FA Cup impressed the former Rangers goal stopper.

Speaking to Newspathfinder after a quarter finals match where the young lad stopped two penalties and scored one against Ochomma FC to secure semi finals place for his side, Coach Obiakor said that Chigozie reminds him of his good old days.

“Chigozie is fantastic in the goal post, l was so impressed. His performance, his timing, his calculations, they are all welcomed by me”,

“Infact, he reminded me of my old good days. The diving, the one catch and the long kicks, these are qualities of a good goalkeeper. I recommend him and l appreciate him”, he said.

On where he thinks the boy will be in the next two years, Coach Obiakor said, “in the next few weeks, or months or years, he will find himself in the league and the national team”,

“I promised him goalkeeper’s kit. That’s my own contribution to his growth and development as a motivating factor”.
