The Labour Party Candidate for the House of Representatives, Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the upcoming 2023 General Elections, Prof. Lilian Oby Orogbu was recently honoured with an award of excellence by the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), Anambra State Council.
The award was bestowed on the former Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka during the one-day maiden celebration of the Union with the theme: “Celebrating Unionism” held at the convocation arena of the institution.
Reacting to the award, Prof. Orogbu expressed her gratitude to God almighty and to the general body of NASU Anambra State Council for the award bestowed on her.
She stated that her aspiration to represent the good people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers is borne out of the passion to make a gigantic difference and lasting change in leadership.
She promised to bring in her wealth of experience from both the academic sector and public service to achieve the feat.
The Labour Party candidate stated that Governance is about making and enacting laws that will positively affect societal dynamics towards ensuring that the masses are given a sense of belonging by ensuring that their yearnings and aspirations are attended to for their common good.
The quintessential scholar with a chieftaincy title of ‘Ada Di Ebube Ndi Igbo’ assured the NASU congregation of quality and effective representation if voted for at the upcoming 2023 General Elections holding in February 2023.
Prof. Lilian Orogbu before her sojourn into politics was one of the youngest scholars to attain the peak of her career by rising to the rank of a Professor with articles, conference papers and publications in reputable international journals.
She is also a public speaker and opinion molder who have spoken at different fora, events and public gatherings.
Hitherto, Prof. Orogbu was the Dean of Faculty of Management Sciences and a three-time Head, Department of Business Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.
The elegant and soft spoken scholar also served in different committees in the University and beyond before venturing into politics.
She is a philanthropist and her humanitarian gesture has seen her give to the needy, less privileged and as well supported the course of education by paying tuition fees for indigent students.
