FIFA badged referee, Patience Ndidiamaka Madu will be at the center of proceedings as Nnewi United battle Apex Krane in the grand finale of the 2022 edition of the Tico/Select Preseason Tournament.

Madu, one of Nigeria’s topmost female referees, was part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games referees that officiated the football event of the games.

On Wednesday, she was named by the Enugu State Referees Council as the arbiter for Thursday’s Tico/Select Preseason Final involving Nnewi United and Apex Krane.

A Doctorate Degree Student of University of Nigeria, Nsuka, Madu officiated last year’s (2021) Aiteo Cup final and was part of the 2022 WAFCON U20 officials.

Coach Ben Okaro’s Nnewi United will seek to overcome Ifeanyi Ekwueme’s Apex Kranes for the Preseason trophy.

The match holds at the Liberty Pitch, Enugu, at 4pm on Thursday.

Nnewi United saw off Golden United in the semi final while Apex Krane overpowered Ingas FC despite playing one man down to reach today’s final.
