The management of Rangers International F.C has received the assurances of the Anambra State Sports Commission of its support during the club’s preseason close camping exercise that began Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in Awka.
The State Sports Commission chairman, Hon. Patrick Onyedum gave these assurances when he received in audience the management of the ‘Flying Antelopes’ led by the administrative secretary, Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua who paid a courtesy visit to the commission boss in his office, Wednesday.
Honorable Onyedum while welcoming the Rangers family congratulated them for the successes recorded by the team in the last few years and for keeping the team at the top level since its founding days.
He challenged the current team to keep the flag flying as Rangers remains the symbol of the Igbo race everywhere in the world.
“Sincerely, I am glad on this visit and remember with great feelings what our great club, Rangers International F.C stands for. As a footballer, while growing up, it was my dream to feature for the team between the sticks but could not make the cut, not for lack of the requisite talent”,
“I must praise your decision to bring your preseason program to Awka and the Anambra state Sports Commission will give you all the support you need to succeed in the coming season.”
Earlier the Rangers Administrative Secretary, Barrister Ugwuarua Ferdinand, thanked the chairman of the commission for the warm reception extended to his team.
“Let me start by thanking you for your warm reception as we are in Awka to prosecute our preseason program and it became expedient for us to pay this visit to the ‘Father of Sports’ in Anambra state. We thank the good people of Anambra state for being a good host to us last season and we hope to get the same during our close camping exercise.”
Present at the brief ceremony were top officials of the commission and officials of Rangers International F.C.
