Nnamdi Azikiwe University has been awarded Agricultural Research Innovation For Africa (ARIFA).
This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone during a chat with our Correspondent on non- teaching developments recorded by the university during the strike in his office recently.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the project under the ambit of the university’s Center of Excellence for Engineering, Biosciences and Agriculture Translational Studies is funded is funded by TETFUND.
He said that under the project, an Agriculture innovation platform has been articulated providing for staff of the university undergoing post-graduate training to be sent to Brazil.
Such trip he said is basically for the staff to undergo training in value-chain exploration and expansion of agriculture produce.
Prof. Esimone informed that on return, they would, under the auspices of the Centre for Engineering, Biosciences and Agriculture Translational Studies provide the fulcrum for dissemination to the wider society.
