Chief Basil Ejidike,The All Progressive Congress (APC)Anambra, Chairman, has called on the incoming government to reward party faithfuls who are working hard to achieve the 2023 APC mandate.
Ejidike made this call during a press conference organised by the Party State Executives in APC office in Awka on Thursday.
Ejidike said the call was as a result of the actions of some party members who could not openly declare their loyalty and support for the party’s candidates for the presidential election in the person of Ashiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima yet enjoy benefits of the government.
He said that party members in Anambra who have declared openly their stand to support the party’s candidates and manifesto for the upcoming general elections should be rewarded adequately after their victory come 2023.
“I want to sound it here that whatever Senator Ngige said or didn’t say during an interview in a national television is solely his personal opinion and not that of Anambra State APC,” he reiterated.
Ejidike further stated that the conference was aimed to inform the public that Anambra APC is stronger and united more than ever to work for the total victory of its candidates during 2023 elections.
The Chairman said that Anambra APC have strong confidence in the party’s presidential candidates Sen. Bola Tinubu and his running mate Sen. Kashim Shettima.
He stated that with the help of His Excellency Hope Uzodinma, the coordinatorsouth east presidential campaign and Senator Andy Ubah, the Anambra State party leader, that the party is set to deliver Senator Tinubu in South East and Anambra State respectively.
Ejidike appealed to the incoming government not to be confused after the election victory but reward only those who stood by their vision with appointments to help drive their mission.
“We are ready and on ground to canvass for votes across the state from Anambra electorate.
“We are not doubtful of the Party’s developmental agenda for the people and are strongly committed to achieving landslide victory for our party.
“All we ask the public is to be open minded to accept transformational agenda of our party come 2023 general elections,” he expatiated.
While speaking on the Past Publicity Secretary, Okelo madukife, he categorical stated that he is no longer the state publicity secretary and should stop acting as one.
“The NEC headed by our former national Chairman Buni desolved the executive that Okelo was elected when he was suspended by The state working committee of 14 out of 17 vote for anti party activities. And as the State Chairman of the party, the suspension has not been lifted as far as I know. He’s just an imposter and it’s a criminal act,”
He said that there are no parallel government in Anambra APC executives and noted that no other group has the legitimate authority to speak for APC in the state.
