A passionate appeal for calm has been made to the Nigerian students who are at home following the insensitivity and reluctance of federal government to take necessary steps to end the ongoing university workers strike.
The students have been appealed to be peaceful but resolute that the government must do the needful.
The appeal was made by the chairperson, ASUU, Nnamdi Azikiwe University chapter, Comrade Steve Ufoaro while speaking to journalists today after the peaceful protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress, Anambra state chapter at Arroma Junction, Awka, Anambra state.
“I want to appeal to students to be peaceful but resolute that the government must do the needful. Government must invest in educational system. Government must fund education, it is our right”,
“We have the fund, we have the resources but it is being mismanaged. If we set our priorities aright, we can fix our educational system”,
“Let all of us lend our voices to this struggle, the students, the parents and the populace, so that we can get victory at the end of the day and have a better university system for all of us”, he appealed.
